Franklin Avenue Students Captivate Pearl River School Board

Pearl River High School is scheduled to have four new classrooms in the space currently occupied by district administration by September 2012.

The Franklin Avenue Elementary School Garden Club briefly supplanted the Pearl River Board of Education members at the start of Tuesday night's meeting in Pirate Cove.

The group of fourth graders, under the tutelage of their teacher Janet Fenton, explained the intricacies of how they beautified the courtyard at their school with plants, flowers with the hard work of 52 students.

Superintendent Dr. John Morgano indicated that this was the initial installment of a program to bring students to the board meetings.  He commented,
