Golden Gloves Boxing Postponed
The 85th Annual Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament has been postponed from Saturday, Jan. 21 to Jan. 28.
The 85th annual New York Golden Gloves boxing tournament, which has attracted near-capacity crowds to Hillburn for three years, has responded to the threat of inclement weather, and rescheduled its card at the Joseph T. St. Lawrence Community, Health & Sports Center to Saturday, Jan. 28.
The card was originally set for Saturday, Jan. 21 to close the opening week of preliminary bouts. There are six weeks of prelims scheduled before the competition turns even tougher with the start of the quarterfinals on Feb. 28.
The re-scheduled show on Jan. 28 in Hillburn is set to begin at 3 p.m., with doors to open at 2:15 p.m., according to Phil Tisi, supervisor of the Town of Ramapo.
