Officials at the United Way of Rockland tell us they've received a grant from Fortunoff’s Nanuet store on Route 59.
Here's the full statement:
Fortunoff Backyard Store, the legendary retail brand well-known for providing the largest selection of outdoor furniture and accessories, has made a gift of $20,000 to support United Way organizations throughout the East Coast. The gift is a result of the Fortunoff Backyard Store “One Umbrella” Campaign. A grant from each Fortunoff Backyard Store located in proximity to a local United Way has been given to support local services.
"We believe that successful companies have a responsibility to give back to their local communities,” said Bernie Sensale, Fortunoff Backyard Store CEO. “We are proud to partner with The United Way as the recipient of our “One Umbrella” program, as they are an organization that not only shares our values, but has the ability, through their local chapter network, to greatly impact and support those in need.”
The corporate partnership will benefit a total of nineteen local United Ways spanning from Connecticut to Florida. Each grant will be invested to support programs that address critical needs in education, income/financial stability and health.
