Hate Mail for Rockland Lawmaker: Doctored Photo of ISIS Beheading Him
Aron Wieder is the only Hasidic member of the county legislature.

Rockland County lawmaker Aron Wieder who represents Spring Valley, received some hate mail Dec. 15—a shocking doctored photo of a prisoner being beheaded by an ISIS terrorist—with his head superimposed on the victim’s.
Wieder, who is the only Hasidic member of the county Legislature, told The Journal News Dec. 18 that he had been looking over his shoulder ever since.
“I opened the letter and I was completely shocked. I literally had shivers running down my spine,” Wieder told TJN reporter James O’Rourke.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s office is investigating.
“Beyond the conversation as to the source of this material, it is one of the most vile and despicable renderings I have seen,” Rockland County Executive Ed Day said in a statement released this morning. “To make a political point by using imagery depicting ISIS beheading an innocent person shows total disrespect to those victims. To direct this message to an elected official attacks the very core of the freedoms so many have given their lives to secure and protect. I call upon all in Rockland County to condemn this in no uncertain terms. I am hopeful that law enforcement can identify and vigorously prosecute those responsible.”
