On Tuesday, July 9th at 8 PM in the Orangetown Town Hall, the Orangetown Town Board will be holding a public hearing to put a referendum on the ballot to abolish the position of the Receiver of Taxes.
I'll be there to speak in favor of it, and so should you. I've been saying for months that this position is redundant, wasteful, and it could easily be merged into the Town Clerk and other town departments. It's an office that quite simply needs to go.
I hope to see you standing by me on Tuesday when I encourage the Town Board to put this question to the people. I've released my five point plan to make it happen. I am the candidate who knows how to wind down this office in a smart and responsible way.
