Irate Neighbors Hate 'Porn Palace' in Pearl River

A luxury mansion in an exclusive section of Pearl River has residents up in arms—because the owner rents it out through airbnb and other websites.

Those who’ve stayed there love it, according to the reviews, which included raves from people who did a music video and a film shoot, and another person who hosted a Great Gatsby-themed party.

Those who live nearby hate it.

Neighbors who allege the place is used for sex parties and porn videos crowded into a recent Orangetown Town Board meeting, according to the Rockland Times, which called the neighborhood “an upscale development of million-dollar homes on large lots on the western bank of United water Company’s Lake Tappan Reservoir.”

They want Orangetown to pass a law banning the use of residential properties for commercial hotel businesses. Town attorney John Edwards is researching the issue.

Whatever the amount the security deposit is, airbnb will hold (NOT CHARGE YOU WHEN YOU PAY FOR YOUR RESERVATION) that amount as an allowance incase something gets damaged or left in dirty condition. If you damage something worth $100, airbnb will only charge $100 and not the entire security deposit amount that is listed. Again, when you book a reservation, you are not instantly charged any security deposit unless something actually gets damaged in the house. Wi-Fi ultra fast speed is available at the house and is included in the price along with cable TV with many channels available. There is also Apple TV for renting movies and playing your own music wirelessly from your phone, iPad, laptop, etc... To the speakers through AirPlay or Bluetooth. The house has free on site parking onsite.

The house is extremely easy to find and get to!! Quiet, private, and beautiful. Has lots of amenities, 15 minute drive to Manhattan!!

Guest have access to all the rooms that do not have tape on the door handles, those taped rooms are my designated storage rooms.

I am always available to the guest. I will be there to check the guests in and provide a tour and instructions along with the keys to the house and I will also be there to do the checkout. I can always be contacted via phone or sms to answer any questions.

House is very private, located in an upscale neighborhood.

There are buses, trains, taxi’s, and car rental areas all nearby.
