Last CaseBook of the Semester
LIU Hudson at Rockland presentation on Borderline Personality Disorder.

Last Casebook of the Semester
The Counseling Honor Society at LIU Hudson at Rockland sponsors the Counselor’s Casebook. Each semester four different LIU Rockland counseling professors open up their casebooks to explain what actually happens during a counseling session. They maintain strict confidentiality while presenting the essential components of actual cases they have counseled. It is an opportunity for students and interested members of the public to look over the shoulders of experienced school and mental health counselors as they describe and discuss their cases.
Tomorrow, November 25th at 7:00pm the last Casebook for the Fall 2014 Semester will be presented.

Borderline Personality Disorder: What’s Really Going On?
Borderline Personality Disorder is often found to co-exist with depression, anxiety, and/or substance abuse. These co-existing conditions may also be symptomatic of Bipolar Disorder, potentially misdiagnosed and placing the client at significant risk. How is the counselor to determine “what is really going on?”.
Presented by Prof. Jamie Shumake, M.S., LMHC , a graduate of the LIU Hudson at Rockland mental health counseling program. Prof. Shumake is the clinical supervisor at the Renfrew Center of Old Greenwich, Connecticut and also maintains a private Dialectic Behavior practice in Nyack, NY.
