Letter: Rocklanders Please Write Albany About Killer's Parole
The writer, a former county lawmaker, is founder of Petitions for Paula.

Dear Editor,
I seek your help and support in my attempt to right a wrong. I would like to ask every resident of Rockland County to give their most serious positive consideration to transmit by mail, email or fax a request to our Governor, who appointed the members of the State Parole Board, and our Senator, who approved the appointments, to review the Board's Parole of the man who participated in the barbaric murder of 16-year old Paula Bohovesky, the details of which are too horrid to be publicly articulated out of respect for the victim's mother’s sensitivity.
I do not suspect they are or were aware of this specific Parole, so I am most respectfully requesting that they utilize every means that is legal to suspend the Parole before the murderer is released and facilitate a review by the entire Parole Board, excluding those members who supported the Parole, with a laser focus on the heinous details of the murder and the fact that the murderer never expressed remorse, regret, shame or any compassion for Paula’s family. This is evidence that the killer is a dangerous person who constitutes a threat.

Failing the ability to suspend the release, I beseech the Governor and Senator to assure us that the Board members who choose to parole the killer not be reappointed to their position with the power to release killers. In this era of demand for greater government transparency and accountability, I hope our Governor and Senator will tell us what they learn from any possible review.
As a former Legislator for 44 years, I have a profound respect for the measures that are in place to prevent any political influence in the Justice system and do not seek to introduce any politics. I just feel that the parole of an unrepentant male killer of a female child is worthy of a second look.
