From Author Barbara Plasker: Local author Barbara Plasker, Ed.D., recently donated a copy of her book Simple Ways to Transform Your Life: Lessons Learned by a Late Bloomer to the Blauvelt Library.

Plasker’s book chronicles her journey from insecure stay-at-home mom lacking clarity and direction to successful training specialist and educator. It describes key concepts that can help you lead an empowered, conscious, and serene life which are embodied in the chapter titles and cover topics from A to Z. Each chapter contains four sections: (1) An example of a concept in action, (2) the lessons she learned that moved her forward, (3) something to think about, and (4) a helpful exercise for reflecting on how you can apply that concept to your own life.

Plasker has resided in Rockland County for more than 50 years and is the parent of three sons who graduated from East Ramapo schools. She retired in 2016 from the Rockland County Department of Health.
