Mel Liebmann officially sold Mel's Army-Navy Center Sept. 1 after owning the store on Williams Street in Pearl River for 57 years, which you can .
To honor Liebmann for his work in the community, a sendoff was held Saturday morning at Mel’s Army-Navy so that numerous local officials, friends and longtime shoppers could show their appreciation for Liebmann.
“Everybody loves you,” Legislator John Murphy said to Liebmann. “[Orangetown Councilman] Denis [Troy] and I are so glad you never ran for office, or else we’d be here running the store.”
