Mejor Vida in Spring Valley
HRHCare offers a free Healthy Choices NY course given entirely in Spanish.
HRHCare is pleased to announce that our first six-week Mejor Vida Program, a Healthy Choices NY self-management course given entirely in Spanish, will be offered free of charge in Spring Valley starting on January 27th. This community-based workshop will tackle topics such as healthy eating; exercise; managing depression; appropriate use of medication; effective communication with family and health professionals; relaxation techniques; how to navigate the health care system; and new health treatment evaluation. Each participant in the workshop will receive a copy of the companion book Tomando Control de su Salud, an audio relaxation CD and an audio exercise CD. All materials and instruction will be entirely in Spanish. The classes are highly participative and offer the tools for maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle through mutual support.
This free six-week Mejor Vida Program will take place on January 27th, February 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and March 3rd. All classes will be held from 3:00 to 5:30 PM in the Fielding Room on the third floor of the Finkelstein Library; 24 West Route 59, Spring Valley, NY 10977.
