Mum On Stabbing, Pair Face Drug Charges

A stabbing victim walked into Nyack Hospital Saturday afternoon. Now a Pearl River woman and a man from Sparkill are under arrest.

NYACK, NY — Clarkstown police called to Nyack Hospital at 1:20 p.m. Saturday about a stabbing victim who had walked into the Emergency Department. They were unable to get either him or his friend to talk about the circumstances of the incident.

So they checked out the car she had used to drive him to the hospital.

Their investigation revealed the car, which was registered to her, contained felony weight of cocaine, police said.

Both were taken into custody for the possession of a controlled substance.

She is Denise Christensen, 53, of Pearl River and he was identified as Carl Mason, 29, of Sparkill, police said.

Christensen was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 4th (felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance cocaine 5th (felony) and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th (misdemeanor).

Mason was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd (felony) and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th (misdemeanor).

Christensen was transported to police headquarters for processing and Mason remained in Nyack Hospital in protective custody.

Christensen was arraigned at Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $2,000. She was transported to Rockland County Jail and will return to court on Dec. 12.
