New City Woman Charged With Felony Assault

Police said she struck the victim causing her to lose consciousness.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A New City woman was arrested in Pearl River for allegedly assaulting another woman. Orangetown police said Karen Connolly, 25, of New City, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony.

Police said they responded Aug. 12 to the Grand Saloon in Pearl River for a reported assault.

An investigation found that Connolly was in a fight with another woman, striking her on the side of the head.

The victim lost consciousness and there were injuries to her face and head.

Connolly was arrested and arraigned to return to court Aug. 27.
