New Jersey Man Dies A Week After Assault In Pearl River: Cops
A Hasbrouck Heights man already faces an assault charge. Police are reviewing the case and ask any witnesses to call 845-359-2121.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A New Jersey man died June 29 from injuries he received in an assault in Pearl River on June 23, Orangetown police said.
Richard Hess, 21, of Norwood, New Jersey, died at Westchester Medical Center, where he was transferred after being taken to Nyack Hospital.
After the incident, Douglas Guido of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, was charged with felony assault.

At the time, police said they responded around 3:13 a.m. to a report of an unconscious man in front of 33 W. Central Ave. They alleged Guido struck Hess, whom he knew, in the head with his closed fist.
Now Orangetown police said they, the Rockland County District Attorney and the Westchester Medical Examiner are reviewing the case.
