New Rochelle Police Officer Arrested in Sex Sting

The officer allegedly sent a sexually explicit video of himself to a "15-year-old" with whom he was "chatting."

A New Rochelle police officer was arrested for allegedly trying to send a sexually explicit video to an undercover investigator posing as a 15-year-old girl.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said Matthew Melillo, 31, of North Avenue, was charged with attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor, which is a class "E" felony.

The district attorney's office said Melillo allegedly engaged an undercover investigator in a series of "chat" conversations over the Internet between Aug. 3 and Aug. 29.

During the "chats," the undercover investigator made it clear "she" was a "15-year-old girl." The DA's office said Melillo discussed specific sex acts he would engage in with the "minor."

Melillo also allegedly sent a video he claimed to be of himself in a sexual situation while "chatting" with the "15-year-old."
