New York Army National Guard Promotes Pearl River Man
Promotions recognize and retain the highest caliber citizen soldiers, officials said.
PEARL RIVER, NY — Rodney Willingham, a member of the New York Army National Guard from Pearl River, was recently promoted.
Major General Ray Shields, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, said the promotion recognizes his capability for additional responsibility and leadership.
Willingham is assigned to the Company B, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry. He received a promotion to the rank of private 1st class on Aug. 28.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential. They recognize the best qualified soldiers and attract and retain the highest caliber citizen soldiers for a career in the New York Army National Guard, officials said.
