NJ Man Indicted on Felony DWI Charge after Orangetown Crash

The DA alleges the driver, whose BAC was .29 percent, has two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated.

Mario Acosta-Portillo of 5513 Grand Place in West New York, NJ, was indicted Sept. 16 by a Rockland Grand Jury on charges of felony driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about Sept. 3, 2014 at about 12:37 pm, the 46-year-old was observed to be driving in an erratic manner when he crossed double yellow lines and crashed into a stone wall in Orangetown. The defendant’s blood alcohol content was .29 percent.

The defendant had two prior DWI convictions from New Jersey.
