Two of these advocates for the hungry --- The Center for Food Action (CFA) in Bergen County, NJ and People to People in Rockland County, NY --- are large, well-established, effective organizations that have nourished thousands of the less fortunate in their respective communities for dozens of years.
O&R’s $10,000 grant to CFA will be distributed equally between CFA’s Mahwah operations site in Bergen County and CFA’s Ringwood operations site in Passaic County. Both communities are served by O&R through its New Jersey subsidiary Rockland Electric Company.

The third advocate --- The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, Inc. (CFOS) in Orange and Sullivan counties, NY --- helps individuals, businesses and organizations establish charitable funds that will award grants and scholarships.
CFOS has created the Orange and Sullivan COVID-19 Response Fund to distribute grants of up to $5,000 each to established non-profit organizations to help provide food for needy families; and essential services for homebound elderly and people with compromised immune systems.
These three organizations operate in O&R’s service area, serve O&R customers and have previously partnered with O&R to help feed the community.
O&R President and CEO Robert Sanchez said, “COVID-19’s impact has created an unparalleled food crisis in our community. O&R’s contribution is a step toward putting food on the table in a home that might otherwise go hungry.”
