O&R Donates To Local Food Pantries

From Orange & Rockland Utilities

PEARL RIVER, NY — In an effort to make the holiday season a bit brighter for some of its less fortunate neighbors, Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. is donating a total of $10,000 to 16 food pantries throughout its service area.

That donation will go to provide several thousand meals for families throughout the region. Food pantries, because of their high-volume regional cooperative buying power, can get roughly five times the amount of food that generally can be purchased for $1.

The food pantries:

• Port Jervis Elks
• People to People, Nanuet
• Our Lady of Assumption Church, Bloomingburg
• Immaculate Conception Church, Stony Point
• Head Start of Rockland, Spring Valley
• Florida Food Pantry, Florida
• Evangelical Church of Westtown Food Pantry
• Greenwood Lake Food Pantry
• Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry
• Guild of St. Margaret’s, Middletown
• Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Middletown
• St. Peter and St. Mary's Church, Haverstraw
• Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Old Tappan
• Knights of Columbus, Middletown
• Sacred Heart Food Pantry, Highland Falls
