O&R Restoring Power After Ida

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — As of 6:45 a.m., O&R reported power had been restored to about 14,500 of the 17,000 O&R customers who lost electricity as a result of high gusty winds and heavy rains from Tropical Depression Ida.

O&R crews continue to work to restore electric service to the remaining approximately 2,500 who remain out, company officials said.

As of 5:45 a.m., here’s a breakdown of the latest numbers and the top three outage locations in each county affected:

Rockland County 1,481 total

• Chestnut Ridge – 755
• Piermont - 172
• Upper Nyack - 163

Orange County 587 total

• Blooming Grove - 126
• Monroe - 121
• Woodbury - 76

Sullivan County 173 total

• Lumberland - 75
• Mamakating - 10

Bergen County 374 total

• Montvale -- 156
• Oakland -- 61
• Cresskill -- 54

Passaic County 128 total

• West Milford -- 105
• Ringwood -- 23

For safety’s sake, don’t touch or approach any downed wire. Strong winds may knock trees and branches onto power lines, causing customers to lose service.
