Orangetown, Nyack Community Invited to Speak Out about Police
'A Different Kind of Police Hearing' will give residents a chance to talk, while police just listen.
The Orangetown Police Department, along with Nyack village officials, the Nyack Center and VCS are hosting the second in their series "A Different Kind of Police Hearing" Feb. 1.
The community is invited to speak. The police are committed to listening.
Community members will decide if there is hope of improvement (the organizers think so). "These hearings will not be the answer, but initial steps in a new way of communicating and respecting the community's experience of the police."
