Pearl River 4th Graders Bake Bread, Help Others (VIDEO

Fourth Graders at Franklin Avenue Elementary School in Pearl River took part in the Life Skills Bread Baking Program, with each student making one loaf of bread to take home and another to donate to People to People.

Franklin Avenue Elementary School fourth graders found an activity they could dig their hands into Wednesday and Thursday.

Students in the classes of fourth-grade teachers Vivian Pratt, Janet Fenton and Patricia Calise took part in the Life Skills Bread Baking Program. They attended a presentation by event sponsor King Arthur Flour Wednesday, then got down to baking bread themselves Thursday.

King Arthur Flour donates the flour and provides instructions for baking. The students did the work Thursday morning, each making one loaf of bread for themselves and one that will be donated to People to People.
