Pearl River Community Star: Jeanie Imperati, Teacher

In this new series, Patch features Pearl River community members who make a difference in the lives of residents.

In this new series, Patch features outstanding members of the community that go above and beyond to give them the recognition they deserve.

Today we feature Mrs. Jeanie Imperati, a local teacher who has made a difference, sent in by Casey McGowan.

Who is your favorite teacher?

I’d like to nominate Mrs. Jeanie Imperati.

Where does she teach?

Kindergarten at Franklin. Ave. Elementary School.

Why is she your favorite?

My little boy Luke, 5, had a rough start in Kindergarten. He missed me, and it broke my heart seeing the tears in his eyes walking in trying to be brave. Within less than two weeks, he was bounding out the door for school. He raves and raves about his teacher, Mrs. Imperati, which, he reminds me, rhymes with karate!

Every day he shares what he’s learned, and is so excited about it. In preschool I was lucky to get one word from him after school about what he learned! She goes out of her way to make sure each child gets individual attention and support. Kindergarten will be a great year, full of exciting new things gs to learn for Luke and I
