Pearl River Math Honor Society Inducts New Members (VIDEO)

Family, friends, teachers and administrators gathered in Pirate Cove Tuesday to honor the 2012 Pearl River High School Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society Inductees.

Math Honor Society Advisor Kelly Lawrence led the ceremony. Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Morgano congratulated the inductees and spoke about the many practical applications of mathematics, from problem-solving to computers and research.

Pearl River High School Assistant Principal Cindy Mantas gave a speech with facts about numbers, including favorites the adults in the room and trivia such as why the police don't us the No. 1 in a lineup.

There were 32 new members among the 62 inductees.
