Pearl River Restaurant Owner to Judge BOCES Contest

Emmett Woods, owner of of Emmett's Castle at Blue Hill in Pearl River, will be one of the judges of the Rockland BOCES "Bring Your Ancestor's Best Family Reciple" Contest.

Emmett's Castle at Blue Hill owner Emmett Woods will do his part to help showcase local culinary students and raise funds for the BOCES Scholarship Fund Tuesday.

Woods will be one of the judges of the Bring Your Ancestor's Best Family Recipy contest sponsored by the Rockland BOCES adult eduation ESL program 6 p.m. Tuesday at Union Restauratn in Haverstraw.

Woods will be of a group of Rockland County chefs and restaurant owners judging recipes submitted by Rockland BOCES culinary students.

"It is important to support our culinary students and the schools that prepare them for their future as chefs and restauranteurs," Woods said. "Rockland BOCES provides training for many of our Rockland County Residents." 

The judges will select recipes to be served at the Rockland BOCES Culinary Scholarship Event 7 p.m. Feb. 29 in the Rockland BOCES at 65 Parrott Road Building #9 in West Nyack. Tickets for the event are $45.
