Pearl River School District Holding Reorganizaiton Meeting

Annual meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Pirate Cove, with the board's regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.

The Pearl River School District will hold its annual Board of Education reorganization meeting 7 p.m. Wednesday in Pirate Cove.

The full agenda is available at the district's website, as is the agenda for the regular board of education meeting that will follow immediately after.

The board of education will choose a new president and vice president for the 2011-12 school year. Michael Clohessy is the current president and Rob Davis is the vice president. The five-member board will not change for the upcoming year. Only one spot was open for election this year and incumbent Thomas DePrisco ran unopposed.

DePrisco and the new board president and vice president will take their Oaths, as will new Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Morgano.

The board will also appoint personnel for various positions and committees for 2011-12, such as District Counsel, Chief School Position and the CSE/CPSE Committee. Most of those positions are not changing from 2010-11.

The agenda for the regular meeting includes the confirmation of the fall sports coaches among the personnel items and the adoption of the code of conduct for 2011.
