Pearl River Schools Honor Students
The Pearl River School District administration and board of education honored students for recent accomplishments at Tuesday's school board meeting.
The Pearl River Board of Education honored a group of students as part of its Tuesday meeting.
Most of those honored were athletes, though David Avery was also honored for winning Best Instrumentalist for his performance in the Pearl River High School production of "Damn Yankees" at the Helen Hayes Metropolitan High School Theater Awards earlier this month.
The athletes recognized were all members of the Pearl River Outdoor Track and Field team.

The students recognized were:
- Kieran Brennan, New York State champion/Federation 2nd place in 4X800 meter relay; third place state and Federation in 800 meters
- Stephen McNiff, New York State champion/Federation 2nd place in 4X800 meter relay
- Joe Clinton, New York State champion/Federation 2nd place in 4X800 meter relay
- Tom Bonaro, New York State champion/Federation 2nd place in 4X800 meter relay
- Brian Cook, sixth place in New York State championships, 3000 meter steeplechase
- Molly Shine, All-American/5th place at Nationals in Distance Medley Relay
- Danielle Muchoe, All-American/5th place at Nationals in Distance Medley Relay
- Maria Kohlbrenner, All-American/5th place at Nationals in Distance Medley Relay
- Kelly Hayes, All-American/5th place at Nationals in Distance Medley Relay
- David Avery, Best Instrumentalist in 2012 Helen Hayes Metropolitan High School Theater Awards.
