Pearl River Schools Look at Reorganizing Administration, Utilizing AIM property

Donald Brenner will present options for using the African Inland Mission property at the Pearl River Board of Education meeting 7:30 p.m. tonight.

The Pearl River Board of Education is expected to consider a plan to reorganize the district's administration at its regular meeting 7:30 p.m. tonight in Pirate Cove.

The plan would split the duties currently done by three administrators among two in newly-created positions, with current Director of Curriculum Sue Wheeler a candidate to take on the newly-created position of assistant superintendent of schools for curriculum and instruction.

That is only part of the agenda for tonight's board of education meeting.

Donald Brenner will present the board with options for the sub-division of the Africa Inland Mission property.  The district officially closed on the purchase Dec. 22.  One of the buildings will house new offices for the Pearl River administration, but board must still decide what to do with the rest.

The board is also expected to address a technological plan for 2011-14 and it will hold a first reading of a new policy regarding the prevention of student bullying.
