Pearl River Sports Teams Await Playoff Pairings
The Pearl River boys and girls soccer teams both enter the Section 1 playoffs as league champions.
Both the boys and girls soccer teams clinched league championships last week, the boys with a 0-0 tie against Tappan Zee Thursday and the girls with a 4-1 victory over Nyack Saturday.
Both will open up the Section 1 playoffs this seek.
The Section 1 boys pairings will be determined Wednesday, with first-round games likely on Friday. Pearl River is likely to be a No. 2 seed, which would give the Pirates a home game to open the postseason.

The Section 1 field hockey and volleyball pairings will also be set Wednesday.
The girls soccer sectional pairings will be set Thursday, with the opening round Saturday. As a league champion, the Pirates could also open at home.
