Pearl River Schools to Recognize Students, Approve Fall Sports Coaches
The Pearl River Board of Education will hold its final meeting before the 2011-12 school year ends 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The Pearl River Board of Education and Administration will once again recognize student accomplishments as part of Tuesday's school board meeting 7:30 p.m. at the district administration building.
Most of the students will be honored for accomplishments during the spring sports season.
Tuesday's agenda also includes the certification of Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Morgano as the lead evaluator for the Pearl River School District. The full agenda with supporting materials is attached to this report.

Among Tuesday's personnel items, the school board will approve the appointments of athletic coaches for the fall. This will include two new head coaches. Brianna Kenna will replace Julie Crowe as head girls volleyball coach after serving as an assistant coach last fall. John Alaimo is expected to take the place of Ken Driscoll as head girls swimming coach.

- Dan Doherty, girls cross country
- Mike Kiernan, boys cross country
- Shane Carlacci, field hockey
- Jeff Michael, football
- Lauren Piccinich, Pirettes
- Tim Peabody, girls soccer
- Damon O'Keefe, boys soccer
- Joan Smith, girls tennis
Doherty stepped aside as Pearl River's outdoor girls track and field head coach this spring, though he stayed with the team as a volunteer assistant coach. At the time, he said he had not decided if he would return for cross country in the fall. Doherty led Pearl River to its 33rd consecutive section cross country championship this past fall.
Other items on Tuesday's agenda include:
- Establishment of a part-time school psychologist position
- Agreement between the district and the Pearl River Teacher's Association on an Athletic equipment manager stipend.
- Possible participation in the BOCES cooperative bid consortium.
