Fifteen Pfizer Pearl River colleagues comprised the majority of the OPEN (Out Pfizer Employee Network) team that participated in the annual AIDS Walk New York to raise funds for the Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) recently. The Pfizer team joined more than 15,000 other people to raise over $4 million for GMHC and dozens of other AIDS organizations.
The Pfizer OPEN team’s levels of participation and contributions were boosted with support from the site’s Global Asian Alliance, which organized a bake sale, and members of other colleague resource groups.

“Since 1986, funds raised through the AIDS Walk New York benefit GMHC and over 50 other local AIDS service organizations,” said Jakob Loschko, a scientist at the Pfizer Pearl River site. “The funds raised at the event remain a vital lifeline sustaining the prevention, care, and advocacy programs GMHC provides for the thousands of individuals and families affected by the disease in the tri-state area.”
Among the Pfizer Pearl River team’s participants was Soraya Moghazeh, a scientist at the Pfizer Pearl River site who held the team’s sign (see photograph) during the 10-mile walk through Central Park and Riverside Drive.
