Planning Board Approves Anellotech Site Plan in 5-2 Vote

Opponents vowed to keep fighting.

The Orangetown Planning Board approved the final site plan for Anellotech’s proposed expansion.

Anellotech has a research facility on the Pfizer campus in Pearl River and is working on a green technology process to produce chemicals from non-food biomass instead of petroleum.

Neighbors have vehemently opposed the plan. Community coalition Stop Anellotech has an Article 78 petition pending in Rockland County Supreme Court.

To Heather Hurley, Kelley K Ann, Denise Schorn, Brian Condon, Jim Riley,Amy Wertheim, Scott Paness and Helen Shaw - you are a force to be reckoned with in this community. The fight goes on - we just fall back, regroup and come back stronger.

Heads held high today folks - we fought the good fight last night (shame on those who refused to listen to reasonable requests) and today we take up the battle again. But we are smarter than before and we go on.

Make no mistakes - they gave final site based on contingencies - we will make sure that every contingency has been met before they put shovel to dirt. We are not done.

Enjoy your day and think about what you can do to help STOP ANELLOTECH. And PM Heather with your ideas.
