Pomeranian, Owner Saved From House Fire In Pearl River
Police said the fire was called in at 12:30 p.m.

PEARL RIVER, NY — A house fire at lunchtime Wednesday brought firefighters and police to West Washington Avenue after neighbors saw smoke and fire.
First in a detached garage, the fire spread to the house and engulfed the upper floors.

Firefighters from Pearl River were helped by departments in Nanuet, New City, West Nyack and Montvale, as well as police and ambulance corps. O&R and the highway department helped with power and traffic control.

Orangetown police said they were happy to report that the sole resident and her Pomeranian escaped unscathed. No one else was injured either.
Orangetown detectives, the county's fire origin team, the building department and fire inspector are in the process of figuring out how the fire began.
