Rage-Filled Inmate Killed Fellow Psychiatric Center Resident

He punched and kicked the victim, then stomped on his head as he lay unconscious.

A patient at the Rockland Psychiatric Center who stomped on a fellow inmate in a rage-filled attack was convicted of manslaughter, Acting Rockland County District Attorney Kevin Gilleece announced Tuesday.

Alias Stone, 54, violently attacked fellow Rockland Psychiatric Center patient Ronald Randolph at about 5 p.m. July 31, 2017.

Stone punched and stomped on the victim’s head numerous times, as he lay unconscious and defenseless, prosecutors said. Stone was eventually restrained by Rockland Psychiatric Center employees and removed from the room, but not before breaking free and further attacking Stone. The victim died from his injuries on Aug. 14, 2017.
