Pearl River High School March Madness Ping-Pong Tournament Begins Today

The annual fundraiser to benefit local families begins 3:15 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria and continues Wednesday and Thursday.

Last year, 79 competitors helped raise over $1,500 to help a local family in need at the River High School March Madness Ping-Pong Tournament.

The 2012 edition of the three-day event begins 3:15 p.m. today in the high school cafeteria. Play will continue Wednesday in the cafeteria and possibly moving to the gym for Thursday's matches, including the championship. Play begins at 3:15 p.m. all three days.

Pearl River High School Spanish teacher Marc Wolf organizes the event, which began approximately five years ago with the idea of having an NCAA-style 64-competitor field. Play-ins are welcome if more than 64 sign up, as they did last year. The field is made up of teachers and students.
