Rockland County Is A Fabulous Place To Live For Our Veterans

Rockland is home to more than 9000 Military Veterans and Rockland has a fabulous military history going as far back as our Revolutionary War

I do not believe how many great different services are available to our Veterans.

I start with the Rockland County Government Veteran Services Department [created when I was on the Rockland County Legislature]. It has two different service sites, one in a New City Office building and a operation in the New City Town Hall. Next is the Rockland Community College Veterans Student Association. Next is the Federal VA Clinic, also in New City.

These are County & Federal Services. Following are the Not-For-Profit PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veteran Peer Support Program operated by the Bridges Charity headquartered in the West Nyack Palisades Mall + the Not-For-Profit Rockland Homes For Heroes Charity operating on the last parcel of the iconic WW II Camp Shanks in Tappan.

To add to my story are dozens of Veteran Organizations like the Marine Corps League and many American Legion Posts. Just to name some others, but not all, organizations, there are the Jewish War Veterans, Korean War Veterans, Military Order of the Purple Heart, Women Vets of America, NAM Knights [Viet Nam].

There are others helping like NAMI, not just for Veterans, but are service providers. I do not have all the sources of services, but I can introduce the very newest !
