Rockland Teen Struck Twice, Killed On Garden State Parkway
The 14-year-old was a Chestnut Ridge resident.
NEW JERSEY, NY — A teenager from Chestnut Ridge was struck and killed on the Garden State Parkway just before dawn Thursday.
New Jersey State troopers responded at 5:02 a.m. to the report of a struck pedestrian on the southbound side of the parkway in Montvale, Trooper Troy McNair said.
The NJSP said their preliminary investigation found an unknown vehicle was traveling south on the GSP and a Chevrolet Tahoe was behind it. South of the service area, a 14-year-old girl entered the pathway of travel of the unknown vehicle, which hit her. Then she was struck by the Chevrolet Tahoe.

The unknown vehicle continued south on the GSP. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe contacted Troop “D” Bloomfield station to report striking something in the roadway. As a result of the crash the girl sustained fatal injuries, police said.
"The crash remains under investigation and there is no additional information available," McNair said.

The Daily Voice reported that she was a person with special needs.
Chaverim of Rockland and Hatzoloh had searched for the missing girl, according to Rockland Buff writing on X.
