Rockland To Test Emergency Notification System

Pearl River residents, expect a call Wednesday evening.

PEARL RIVER, NY — Phones in #Rockland will ring sometime between 5:30 - 9 p.m., Wednesday. No, it's not a junk call — it's a test of the county's emergency notification system by Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services.

All phones, both landlines and cell, that are registered with the county to receive emergency alerts will get the call. No action is required.

The results will help improve the Code Red notification system, officials said. To sign up go here and click on the Code Red link at the bottom of the page.
