Rollover in Upper Grandview Leads to DWI Charge

The 26-year-old is due in Orangetown Court.

ORANGETOWN, NY — A New Jersey man faces a drunken-driving charge after rolling over his car in Upper Grandview on Saturday, police said.

Orangetown police were called to South Boulevard early in the morning on Jan. 14. They found a car that had overturned after hitting a stone wall on the side of the road. The driver, Jeffrey Ramirez of West New York, NJ, was able to get out of the car. He showed signs of intoxication including glassy eyes and slurred speech.

At police headquarters, the 26-year-old failed a breathalyzer test, police said. He is due in court on the misdemeanor DWI charge Feb. 21.
