Save the Date: 8th Annual Pearl River Chili Cookoff

Area restaurants and delicatessens will showcase their chili recipes and battle for the first place plaque at the Eighth Annual Pearl River Chili Cookoff on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Central Avenue Field.

Beginning at 11 a.m., attendees can enjoy a variety of styles for just $1 per sample, with all proceeds benefitting the Pearl River Special Education PTA (SEPTA) Scholarship Fund. To date, SEPTA has awarded 19 scholarships to Pearl River special education students.

Prizes will be awarded for Best Chili, Best Team Theme and People’s Choice. The event concludes at 4 p.m.

In addition to great chili, there will be music supplied by DJ Mark Griffith, raffles and games for kids.
