Trying to ride on a moving train, fighting, public urination, disorderly conduct

PEARL RIVER, NY — The "most Irish place in New York" has to deal with alcohol every year on parade day, and the Orangetown police cope with the related crimes.

These folks are all due in Orangetown court April 2 unless otherwise noted:

  • At 2:39 p.m., police arrested a 23-year-old from New Milford, New Jersey. They say he climbed up on a Metro-North train stopped at the Pearl River station, and hung on as it began to move. The platform was filled with people. He was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, criminal endangerment and disorderly conduct and released on $50 bail.
  • At 3 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old from New City. They accused him of assaulting and choking his victim in front of 118 N. Middletown Road in Pearl River, and then resisting arrest when officers tried to take him into custody. Once at police headquarters, he refused to let police process him. He was released to a parent.
  • At 4:33 p.m., police arrested from a 25-year-old from Park Ridge, New Jersey. He was attempting to climb onto a train in motion at the Pearl River station. He was released on $100 bail.
