Teen Foils New Year's Eve Grope: Police

PEARL RIVER, NY — Orangetown police arrested Jose Figueroa of Spring Valley in connection with an incident at a New Year's Eve party at a Pearl River home.

Figueroa was charged with sex abuse, forcible touching, and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17.

A 16-year-old girl reported that Figueroa approached her at the party when she was in the kitchen and began kissing and touching her intimately without her consent. When he tried to pull her into an empty room, she locked herself in the bathroom instead and called the cops.

The 33-year-old was charged and processed at Orangetown Police Headquarters, police said.
