To all of our faithful supporters: As you may now know, on July 24th, Labarbera was released into NY County (Manhattan) after spending 40 years in prison for the murder of Paula Bohovesky and will remain there under their parole jurisdiction. Here are the main conditions of his parole: he has to wear a GPS ankle bracelet, he is restricted to the five NYC counties and cannot leave without explicit written permission, under no circumstances can he set foot in Rockland County, he is restricted from any contact with Lois or any part of her family, he must work or attend school and refrain from drinking alcohol, and not frequent places where alcoholic beverages are served, and not use drugs, he must take substance abuse tests on orders from his parole officer. The Petition for Paula organization is extremely grateful for all the support the extended community has provided. This is one of the best outcomes we could realistically expect to receive, and we are confident that our collective community has had an enormous impact. It is because of the publicity and awareness from all local media, the outreach support from our elected officials and law enforcement, and the many thousands of signatures that we collected over the 15 years that made this outcome possible. We will be back in the eye of the storm soon to again ask for your help because the other person convicted, McCain, is due up for parole in May 2021, but with the continued support you provide, we will overcome.
