Ticketing Big Trucks On Route 340

ORANGETOWN, NY — Orangetown police issued summonses to 44 truckers on Route 340 on Monday. The road has a posted weight restriction "except for local delivery," but residents say the restriction is routinely ignored.

Police said they paid special attention to the weight limit. They issued 44 summonses to truck drivers, for violations of the tax law, the vehicle and traffic laws, and the transportation law.
