Two Seats Up for Election on Pearl River School Board
The election and annual budget vote is in May.

There will be an election in May for two seats on the Pearl River Board of Education.
The seats are currently held by Michael Clohessy and Robert Davis.
The term commences on July 1, 2016 and runs through June 30, 2019. Elections will be held on Tuesday, May 17th, together with the Annual School Budget Vote.

Anyone interested in running for the board must submit a petition, signed by 41 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters, to the district clerk’s office by 5PM April 18.
Blank petitions are available in the district clerk’s office, which is located in the district administration building at 135 West Crooked Hill Road, Pearl River, and open between the hours of 10AM and 5PM.

In order to qualify for membership on the school board, a candidate must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years of age or older, able to read and write. Also he or she must be a qualified voter in the district, must be and have been a district resident for at least one year prior to the election, may be the only members of his/her household on such school board, may not be an employee of the school district, may not simultaneously hold another, incompatible public office, and may not have been removed from a school district office within one year of the election.
District residents seeking to place a citizen-initiated petition on the May 17th ballot must submit a petition, signed by 101 or more Pearl River School District qualified voters, to the district clerk’s office by 5PM April 18.
