Woman in Car Yells at Kids in Pearl River
Orangetown police offer safety tips for parents.

The driver of a white car stopped near a group of children on Roosevelt Street at about 7 p.m. Monday and began yelling at them, Orangetown police said.
She then drove away, toward Hunt Avenue.
Patrols continued to monitor the area after the suspicious incident.

Meanwhile, Orangetown police recommend these safety tips for parents:
- Know where your children are at all times. They should check in with you before going anywhere.
- Point out safe places to your kids. That includes places to play, roads and paths, and places to go if there’s trouble.
- Teach your children to be assertive. Make sure they know how to say “no” to an adult and how to run away from dangerous situations.
- Encourage your children to play with others. There’s safety in numbers.
