Wrong-Way Driver Faces DWI Charge In Orangetown
Police caught up with him Friday evening.

BLAUVELT, NY — Called to Route 303 in Blauvelt after 9 p.m. Friday on a report of an erratic driver, an Orangetown police officer found a 2011 Honda stopped in between traffic lanes, a long way from a traffic signal.
A passing motorist told police she had had to evade a collision with the Honda, which had been traveling south in the northbound lanes.
The investigating officer concluded that the driver, Gregory P. Kiernan, was drunk. The 62-year-old Stamford, Connecticut resident was taken to police headquarters where he failed a breathalyzer test, police said.

He was released on bail to a family member, police said.
