18-Year-Old Accused Of Domestic Violence
The victim had an order of protection, but he arrived and disabled the phone during a physical fight, state police allege.

CORTLANDT, NY — An 18-year-old who was restrained by court order from contacting someone not only did make contact, on Oct. 15, but punched holes in the wall of the residence and disabled the phone to stop his victim from calling for help.
The incident took place on Lexington Avenue in Cortlandt.

Anton D. Birnel of Cortlandt faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the 1st degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, both class E felonies, and Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
Birnel was arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court, and sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Birnel is next scheduled to appear before the Court on Oct. 22.
