2 Accused After Gun Menacing Incident
Four witnesses in Cortlandt described the men and their car.

PEEKSKILL, NY — Two Peekskill residents face gun and other charges after several people reported they were menaced on Jan. 30.
New York State Police and Westchester County Police arrested Deshawn Smalls, 27 for Criminal Possession of a Firearm, a class E felony, and Justin Patterson, 31, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2md degree, a class C felony.
Patterson was also charged with Falsifying Business Records in the 1st degree, a class E felony, four counts of Menacing in the 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Forged Instrument, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, all class A misdemeanors, and False Personation, a class B misdemeanor.

Police said they were called to Main Street in Cortlandt at 8:50 p.m. Jan. 30 for a report of menacing with a firearm. Using information obtained from the victims, Westchester County Police located a vehicle on East Main Street and arrested Smalls. The second suspect later identified as, Justin Patterson, fled and was located hiding in a wooded area north of the vehicle.
Troopers took Patterson into custody without further incident. Patterson initially provided a false identity and documentation, in an attempt to avoid association with an active drug sale warrant for his arrest.

Investigation found the men to be in possession of a Makarov pistol which police allege Patterson used to menace four victims.
Both were arraigned before the town of Cortlandt Court, and remanded to the Westchester County Jail with a return appearance date of Feb. 7.
