4th grade Lady Knights from St. Columbanus win first AAU basketball tournament

This past weekend (April 29-30, 2017), the St. Columbanus 4th grade Lady Knights participated in their second AAU tournament of the season. They went into the weekend facing three well known AAU organizations consisting of The Bronx Lady Hawks, Empire State Storm, and NY Extreme Hoops. By using a strong aggressive press, a tough defense, and a fast paced transition offense, the Lady Knights came out with 4 wins over the weekend. The girls outpaced their opponents 135 to 49 and brought home the Empire Storm Championship.

The Lady Knights consist of ten 4th grade girls who played CYO basketball this past winter at St. Columbanus Parish in Cortlandt Manor. The players consist of Audrey Ponton, Brienna Gaccino, Carmen Marino, Cadence Nicholas, Jillian Cinquina, Kaitlyn Raguso, Katie Hofmann, Kiara Williams, Rayana Taylor, and Sofia Andrade. The team is coach by Anthony Cinquina.
